Founded in August of 2011, Padres Prospects is a site dedicated to covering the top Prospects of the San Diego Padres by posting news, analysis and scouting reports.

If you are new to reading scouting reports and the accompanying verbiage, I’d highly recommend reading this scouting primer on the 20-80 scale.

While you will occasionally see a report or scouting note on a player who is not a widely known talent, this site is dedicated to covering the players with the best chance for making a difference on the Major League ball club.  If you are looking for daily coverage of all Padres Minor League players, I’d recommend checking out the coverage at MadFriars and Friarhood.

All views expressed in posts are that of the author and we ask that comments are kept to constructive counterpoints or useful feedback.  Any comments that contain demeaning, offensive or inappropriate language will be deleted.  If you disagree with a ranking or an evaluation that is fine.  You could ask 10 experts to submit a list of top prospects and no two would be the same.  Disparity among the evaluations is what makes them interesting!
